Anna’s journey through middle school

Monday 2015

“So, today is my first day in 9th grade. I am so nervous because I don't know anyone there because all the people I know have moved to a different school because they all got bullied. My parents don’t have enough money to move so I’m gonna be stuck being bullied by those big fat idiot jerks!”

This is my boom writer writing for the boom writing competition.

I am proud because I usualy can not think of a topic for my storys but I thought of this one really well and I wrote it faster then I usualy write storys.

this is just the start so there is more to come about Anna's journey through middle school.

My goal was to use personal voice and I think I put a little bit of it in my story. This is the part that I used personal voice in.

Kapahaka

On Friday 40 kids from Frankley school went to the Kapahaka performance at the  Hawera Hub. We performed in the performance not the competition.

I reckon we did really well in our performance. The songs we sang were: Ka waiata, e tu kahikatea, te aroha and puto puto.

Mata pae pae dislocated her leg when she was playing the guitar on stage behind a group, she was taken away in an ambulance.

For the competition West-End School came 2nd.

Pama and Maaka did really well with saying the karakia and all of their little amazing solos! Also Tia did so well when she led the song e tu kahikatea on her own! I think we did amazing in our performance!

Once

Once I escaped from an orphanage to find my Mum and Dad.

Once I nearly got shot by a Nazi in an army truck beside a river that turned red from human blood.

Once I saved a little girl called Zelda from a burning house and she didn’t know her parents were dead.

  This is my story

I am reading a book called “Once” and it's about a boy called Felix who wants to find his long lost parents while he is taking an adventure through war in 1942!

In this book I have used the reading strategy asking questions so I can understand the text better, This is one of the questions I asked, “How does Barney look after the kids and keep them hidden from the Nazi soldiers?”

You can get a lot of questions out of one sentence!

I put pink glasses on my avatar because my Erlinsindrone glasses are pink. I love going to Taupo with my family in the summer holidays, we stay at our caravan in "Motateri bay". I have short brown hair. I like going in my Poppas boat on lake Taupo. I am wearing these clothes because I like wearing t-shirt's and long pants.

What I do Online and Offline

Online I play Animal jam, I watch YouTube, I play BMX games, I email my friends and I write my own stories on google docs.

Offline I play doctors and surgeons, I play wrestle with my dad and sometimes my sister jumps on top. I LOVE Hockey!!! I play sports all the time, I swim, I run, I play with my dog, I love playing with my friends and family, My cousie bro is Teesha. We are both really crazy and we both love playing with our lego.

Mr.A asked Tia and I if we could make 4 cube nets, cut them out and put them into cubs, so we did this:

MOUNTAIN BIKING FUN!

Today’s fun =

1. We lined up in a line across the side of room 10.

2.then biked onto the field.

3. Then Andrew tout us all about breaking.

BREAKING: When you are biking, and you want to stop fast you…

• first pull your front brake
• then you pull your left brake  
• last but not least, push your bum back so your back wheel doesn’t come up and you flip off!

4. And then we finally went to the jump.

I was very scared because I made a ramp at home down the stairs on my deck, but I fell of the edge and I was sooooo close to breaking my arm!

But I did the jump, Andrew and Mr.A were on the side and the bottom encase I fell off. When I got to the end there was a corner with a tipped wall beside it. You were supposed to go up the wall, but I went on the bottom of the wall because I am only a beginner.

I crashed at the bottom of the tipped wall, but I tried again, I nearly fell again, but I quickly moved my handlebars up so I didn’t fall. (YAY!)

• The first comment had questions and it wasn’t a silly comment.

• Comment two said that there was some useful things in the post that she and some others could use. 

• Comment three the commenter was interested and asked questions to find out more. 

• Comment for the commenter was happy of them and was interested. 

• Comment five the post was about the Internet and she said the blog post was helpful to her. 

• Comment six the commenter said that she can’t wait to see the finished project(so that means that proud of her) 

• Comment seven she likes the descriptive words that the person has put in the post, 

•   Comment eight the commenter gave something that the girl can work on. 

• Comment nine the commenter . said some nice things and said that he learnt something just from reading his blog post.

    Paragraph Writing goal

This term in writing I have improved on paragraphing my story's.

I have improved on it by going though my story's and making a line in between the two paragraph's.

You put a line in between the paragraph's when the next paragraph is about something else but still on that same topic.

This is an example of paragraph's.

Victor gulped, he was scared. The robot had elongated green slimy and wavy arm’s, he had lots of cupboards, drawers and doors on him. But suddenly, the robot waved at him. Victor waved back with relief. The robot said in a shaky voice “follow me” Victor followed the robot with wonder. 

The robot led Victor into the INVENTOR'S LABORATORY; Victor was excited. The robot grabbed Victors ticket, opened up one of his doors and shoved the tickets in! Victor and the robot continued on walking, Next minute Victor  and the robot were in a massive room with lot’s of  Inventor’s stuff.

There is a gap in the middle because it is the next paragraph.

Hi, my name is Ella, I am 9 years old. My pets names are Cody, Charlie and Morris. I love them! In school I am good at writing, spelling and reading. I have 1 sister called Molly, I love her too. I haveMy favourite sport is Hockey, Rugby, Soccer, Tennis and Net Ball.

    What C.O.P.E attitudes have i used this week?              

                              This week I have used PERSISTENCE.                         

I used PERSISTENCE in math when I didn't give up figuring out...e.g There were 6 people and 4 wafers, how many wafers does each person get? they will all get 1/2 and 1/6 each.

I didn't give up because it was fun math and it was challenging and I like things when it challenges me.

This year I have made progress in my writing. I have made progress on my writing by adding wow words.


This year I have made progress on my biking. I have made progress on my biking when the biking experts came to Frankley School to help us learn a bit more on biking. I learnt... the hand signals for, turning, stopping and starting, we also learnt how to bike on the road.I loved term 1 2015 with Mr .A!

Feeling's.

I feel proud that I'm going to camp and that I'm going to try all the activities.

I love camp!

 Worries.

I'm worried that Tia isn't in my cabin because she isn't to sure about camp and I want to make sure that she has a great time. I'm also worried if possums will come into my cabin at night.

 

Excited.

I'm excited about the activities and the food, I'm also excited about the cabins.

Not excited about.

I don't  have anything I'm not excited about for camp!

My New Helicopter!

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Crash! Oh no, my Helicopter crashed

“Its ok” said Daddy. “Its not broken”.

“YAY!” I said. It was my turn again after Dad.

“Hey Molly! Its my turn silly billie!”.

“ Sorry Ella, I thought it was my turn”

Dad carefully put the Helicopter in the middle of the glossy kitchen floor,  and then I pushed down the controller and  the Helicopter took of with a whizzz!

Dad said, “Just remember that this controller is for up, and down.

“Ok”, I moaned,

“ And this controller is for going side to side, and around and around,” said Daddy

“Ok” I moaned again. “Now can I please fly my Helicopter?!”

“Of course”,  exclaimed Dad.

“But, Bzzz,Remem,Bzzz,er,Bzzz,That,Crash!!!,

“No, the other controller is for sideways”,

“Oopsies”,

Dad taught me again.

I said, “Ok,” again.

“Thanks Daddy”, I said happily,

“I think I understand now?”,

Bzzzzz!,

Crash,

I think? !
